Abstract

A stable psychological condition is very important for breast cancer patients (Ca mammae) who are undergoing chemotherapy to avoid depression. One of the efforts to reduce the level of depression is through strengthening spiritual meaning and social support. This study aims to determine the relationship between spiritual meaning and social support and the level of depression of Ca mammae patients undergoing chemotherapy at Dr. M. Yunus Bengkulu Hospital in 2026. This research method uses a cross sectional research design, with a sample of 86 respondents taken using the consecutive sampling technique. Data collection used questionnaires on spiritual meaning, social support, and depression levels. Data analysis was carried out using the Fisher's Exact Test statistical test. The results of the statistical test showed that the p-value = 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05) for both variables, which means that there is a significant relationship between spiritual meaning and social support and the level of depression. Spiritual significance and high social support have been shown to minimize the severity of depression levels in Ca mammae patients undergoing chemotherapy.
