Objectives: This study aimed to determine the Association between Iron Supplementation in pregnant women and the birth weight of infants in Indonesia. Methods: The study used secondary data national from the 2017 Indonesia Demografi and Health Survey (IDHS) with a cross-sectional design. The independent variable is Iron Supplementation. The dependent variable is birth weight. Confounding variables are child, mother, and family factors. The study population this research is 12,350 pregnant women in Indonesia. The subjects was 11,735 people who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis used multivariate logistic regression. Results: The study results found that 6.99% of LBW, and 49.97% of pregnant women with Iron Supplementation consumption do not match the recommendations. The Iron Supplementation was associated with the baby's birth weight (p=0.003). The consumption of Iron Supplementation that is not according to the recommendation is at risk of 1.252 (OR95%CI: 1.081-1.456) compared to the consumption according to the recommendation after controlling for factors such as mother's education, family socioeconomic status. Conclusion: The Iron Supplementation of pregnant women was associated with the baby's birth weight. It is necessary to educate the importance of consuming at least 90 Iron supplements during pregnancy in an effort to prevent the risk of LBW, especially in poor families and low maternal education.
