Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) confirms That the policy tbabies throughout the world should be given exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Mother's milk is the most important baby food, especially in the first 6 months of a baby's life. One aspect of the mother that influences the success of breastfeeding is the mother's belief (self-efficacy). Educating mothers in the form of written information will make it easier for mothers to understand and remember important material related to breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lactation education on third-trimester pregnant women on selfefficacy in breastfeeding in BPM Curup City, Rejang Lebong Regency. The population is trimester III primigravida pregnant women. A sample of 32 people for each group. The instrument used was Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (BSES-SF), consisting of 14 statement points. Quantitative research methods with Quasi-Experimental design, with pre-test and post-test design with a control group. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the difference in self-efficacy in the intervention group and the control group after childbirth with a Z value of -5.776 and a P value <0.05. Conclusion: Lactation education in third trimester pregnant women has an effect on self-efficacy in breastfeeding
