Abstract

Adolescent girls become a group that is prone to anemia because they are easily influenced by the social environment, including in food choices. Consumption of less sources of animal protein, and they lose more iron due to menstruation every month. Anemia prevention strategy will be more effective if done as a teenager. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge and attitudes of young women towards the consumption of Tablets Added to Blood (TAB) in SMP Negeri I Kepahiang in 2020. This type of research is an observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample in this study was 73 XI grade adolescent girls. The sample size is determined using the formula and sampling uses the simple random sampling method. Data collection using a questionnaire. The research data is then processed and analyzed using the Chi Square Test statistical test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge of TAB consumption in Kepahiang I State Junior High Shcool in 2020 (p=0.013) and there was a relationship between adolescent girls’ attitudes toward TAB consumption in Kepahiang I State Junior High School in 2020 (p=0.048). It is expected that the Kepahiang Market Health Center can provide counseling about the importance of TAB consumption for young women to prevent anemia and increase the distribution of Tablets Add Blood to schools.
