Abstract

Background: Giving gaguk rainbow fish cookies as additional food or commonly known as a snack containing high energy and protein which is good for early childhood growth. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the provision of gaguk fish rainbow cookies (Arius thalassinus) on weight changes of children in PAUD IT IQRA, Bengkulu City. Methods: This type of research is pre-experimental with one group pre and post design. The research subjects were children aged 5-6 years with a sample size of 22 children with weight categories <19 kg. Children are given 81 pieces of gaguk fish rainbow cookies for 27 days per child, or given 3 pieces / day per child. The analysis used was the Wilcoxcon test Results: The average daily energy contribution of cookies is 120 Kcal. The average weight gain for children is about 0.928 kg. Conclusion: Based on the results of statistical tests, there was a significant change in body weight of early childhood education children after the intervention was given to the rainbow fish cookies 3 pieces/day (p value< 0.001).
