Abstract

Central health of Sukamerindu Bengkulu city is a working area of Sukamerindu Public Health Center which has informal business spread in 7 regions. One of the informal businesses in Sukamerindu Village is laundry. Laundry which is spread in Sukamerindu area has 18 laundries with 49 workers. Based on observations made there are 75% of workers with ergonomic posture and 25% of workers who are not ergonomic. As for musculoskeletal complaints, there were 43% who experienced big complaints and 57% with mild complaints. Purpose of research to know the relation of work posture with a complaint of musculoskeletal disorders at laundry worker in work area of central health Sukamerindu. The method used is cross-sectional. The population of laundry workers in the work area of Sukamerindu central health there are 49 workers. The sample used in this study uses total sampling, which is 49 workers. Assessment of work posture using checklist posture and for complaints of musculoskeletal disorders using Nordic body map questionnaire. The statistical test used chi-square to show there is a correlation of work posture with musculoskeletal disorders complaint that is p = 0,003 (p = <0,005), a minority (25%) of workers with not ergonomic posture and less than half (43%) of workers experienced big complaints. It is maintaining body posture while working as a first step to prevent musculoskeletal injury. As for workers who experience complaints, they should maintain their working attitude so as not to increase the risk of complaints.
